PT. BlueScope Steel Indonesia was established in 1995 and is the one and only local manufacturer of zinc/aluminum metallic coated and prepainted steel. We produce high quality ZINCALUME® steel and Clean COLORBOND® steel, which provides solutions against tropical staining.

September 2, 1993 was a historical day for BlueScope Steel Limited and BlueScope Steel Indonesia, as it marked the commencement of flat steel metallic coating and painting facilities construction in the Cilegon Industrial Complex, Banten.

The factory was inaugurated on October 13, 1995, making us the only local producer of zinc/alumunium coated steel in Indonesia. As we grew from strength to strength, we established sales and marketing offices in three major cities; Jakarta, Surabaya and Medan.

For over one decade, we have successfully operated in Indonesia based on OUR BOND, the guiding principles.


We believe that success comes from customer satisfaction. And  it is with persistent efforts in maintaining the strong positioning of our proprietary products such as ZINCALUME® steel, Clean COLORBOND® steel, and GALVALUME® steel that we can achieve our goals.

In order to cater to the growing demands of all existing market segments, we have also produced and delivered a wide range of other high-quality zinc/alumunium coated steel products such as PELANGI® steel, ABADI'® steel, GEMILANG® steel, INTERIOR® steel, INDAH® steel, TEXTURA® steel, ANCOR® steel, PERISAI™ steel, and TANGGUH™ steel. All of these products are produced to world-class manufacturing standards and operating disciplines in a reliable plant with the consistent aim for continuous improvement, product innovation, and enhanced customer satisfaction.


To improve customer satisfaction and gain trust, we have also established partnership collaborations with reliable suppliers such as PT Krakatau Steel (KS). The longstanding relationship with KS creates an excellent supply chain of main raw materials for all of our products. KS has recently signed an agreement signalling their commitment with us to consistently supply raw materials that is in line with our continued growth.


We strongly believe that good communication with our customers and suppliers depends on our people. A deeply rooted "can-do" attitude has led to outstanding work performance all these while.

We seek to continue providing a conducive working environment to our staff. Some efforts include introducing an independent learning forum and a training programme led by employees for their own colleagues.

All these activities are carried out in a safe environment that won us the Zero Harm award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2006.

In the same year, we also received the Best Safety Award competing against all other BlueScope Steel operations throughout the world, while achieving millions of LTI free hours with 100% Environmental Compliance.


Our success is a response to the great trust given to us by the investors of the company. Rest assured that as time passes, we will work harder than ever to maintain and build on the achievements of today. With more projects in the pipeline, we are confident of pushing the limits.

We also believe that innovations in all sectors should happen in a sustainable manner, and that it should never stop. Besides adopting the "can-do" attitude, we also strive to enhance performance in service, logistical and manufacturing areas to shorten the delivery time of our products. By imposing greater targets, we can certainly improve even more.

The numerous social activities that have been and will continuously be carried out include free health clinics, local safety awareness campaigns, community roofing and book donations to schools, among others.
